I was born and raised in Slovenia, which is a small country surrounded by three mountain ranges that make up the the Slovenian Alps. The Kamnik Alps were outside my front door and as soon as I could walk, I was skiing and climbing in the mountains. In 1989, I joined Kamnik Alpine Club where I had a chance to meet and climb with some of the worlds best alpinists, this was a pivotal moment in my life that defined my career as a mountain guide.

I quickly excelled in the alpine in both Summer and Winter seasons achieving first ascents in the Slovenian Alps, both climbing as well as backcountry skiing. It didn’t take long before I ventured out and started to explore the mountain ranges of the world. Within a couple of years I had successful expeditions in Alaska, Canada, South America’s Patagonia & Andes, and the Karakoram Range in the Pakistan Himalaya.

Over the years I started shifting my focus to guiding and teaching alpine safety and became a certified IFMGA/ACMG Mountain Guide in 2006. When not guiding you can find me supporting climbing communities and developing new climbing areas around the world.
